PTC and FIRST

PTC is a proud sponsor of FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), donating software and funds to support this important educational initiative. FIRST was founded in 1989 by inventor and entrepreneur Dean Kamen. Since its inception, FIRST has designed accessible, innovative programs that build science and technology skills and interests, as well as self-confidence, leadership, and life skills. The program reaches more than 125,000 students in grades K-12 annually. As part of the company's sponsorship, PTC is the official collaboration partner of FIRST and supplies its Windchill, Pro/ENGINEER and Mathcad software to FIRST Robotics Competition Teams. Additionally, PTC employees participate in this sponsorship through a variety of volunteer opportunities.

According to a Brandeis University study, students who participate in FIRST competitions are three times more likely to major in engineering, and four times more likely to pursue careers in engineering. PTC is proud to sponsor this program that helps foster a life long interest in scientific and engineering principles in high school students.
